Michael Crain has a comprehensive background in San Francisco Bay Area real estate and finance spanning 25 years.  He began as a real estate agent in the mid-1980s and in later years became a principal engaged in numerous types of real property.  His experience in the real estate sector over the years focused his efforts and energy on the leasing of commercial office buildings, and in the selling of commercial and agricultural development projects. 

His years as a former commercial banker for prestigious American banking institutions, provided invaluable knowledge needed to correctly assess and advise clients on commercial vineyards, and agricultural projects for consideration as investment properties. 

He holds a California Real Estate Broker License and has held a Certified Real Estate Appraiser License.  He is a former Commercial Real Estate Agent; Bank Commercial Lending Officer and Managing Partner in privately held real estate investment partnerships involving San Francisco Bay area (North Coast region) vineyard properties.

Michael's key affiliations in the San Francisco Bay Area were as Licensed Real Estate Agent with L.J. Hooker International, a San Francisco financial district commercial real estate brokerage firm and in subsequent years, as Commercial Lending Officer with Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and Citibank, F.S.B. 

In the late 1990s he became Vice President of Cambial Financing Dynamics, Inc., a strategic financial management consulting firm in San Francisco.  In 1998, both Chairman and President of Cambial bestowed the additional title of Managing Partner of Cambial Vineyards, LLC., upon Michael.  This LLC was an investment partnership of four partners whose financial savvy and rich experience in business successfully concluded transactions of over $20,000,000 in prime vineyard lands, in the Napa Valley, over a two-year period during 1998 to 2000.  

In 2003 Michael co-founded Blakeslee & Crain Land Services with offices in Petaluma and Sonoma offering full service real estate sales, consulting and appraising expertise.  Given their combined 50-year career track in real estate, finance, agriculture and valuation, Michael and his partner created a niche market segment whose reputation became rooted in depth of knowledge and integrity.  While the focus of this partnership was in the North Coast region of the San Francisco Bay Area of Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Solano, Lake and Mendocino counties, Blakeslee & Crain Land Services also served clients from beyond the region, working with a national and international clientele. 

In 2011, given the growing number and needs of a diversified and prestigious client portfolio in the real estate brokerage sector developed by Michael, he made the decision to continue to expand his business niche by founding Michael Crain Properties, Vineyard Advisors And Brokers, a company owned wholly by Michael Crain.  His focused attention and energy is now offered exclusively to clients in his personal portfolio whom he is honored to serve.

Michael places great value in community service, thus giving back where it matters most for his region.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Alliance, an association of hundreds of vintners, growers and associates in the North Coast region whose mission includes, the education and promotion of awareness of the importance of the wine industry to local communities.
